Theros aims to bring together economic theory enthusiasts from around the world to share our work and ideas in an intellectually vibrant, and importantly sun-drenched environment, surrounded by nature.
Θέρος means "summer" in Greek, and our vision for this conference is to meet every summer in a different location to discover and enjoy the best that Greece has to offer.
This first iteration will be held in Spetses—a small picturesque island off the coast of the Peloponnese, at a historic educational institution. It will take place on June 10-13, 2026. The first session on Wednesday June 10 will start at 3pm.
Theros is co-organised by the DREAM Research Centre at the University of Durham. DREAM co-organises the Durham Economic Theory Conference, the Virtual Seminars in Economic Theory (VSET) and the Makris Symposium in Economic Theory (MSET).
There is a registration fee of £100 that covers various conference activities. The conference dinner is on Friday, June 12.
We invite paper submissions from all major fields of economic theory.
The keynote speakers are
