I don’t think about my dreams or goals the same way I used to. What I mean by that is that I’ve accepted that I don’t have to just ‘belong’ to acting or one avenue of creativity. I started my acting career in 2023, starring in two short films that year. I played Azi in Light Path 8 (Sukhu Sekhon), and Alex in Bridge of Connection (Alex Eruotor). In Toronto, I've been the Assistant Director for a horror short film titled He Wears My Face (Jaydon T. Yerex, late 2025). I've also written for and done voiceover work for an animated independent group PSA for The Salvation Army. I'll always be grateful to all the incredible people and visionaries I've had the privilege to work on these projects with.

I like to describe myself as an aspiring artist. Why do I use the word “aspiring”? I like to keep humility in all areas of my life, because I believe in the importance of growth and learning in many different ways. I’m only currently at a point in this journey of life that I'm graced with every new day that I am alive-and it'll be this way until the day that I don’t wake up. There is much to experience, everyone has to truly live-but especially as an artist. I’m a storyteller, I’m a writer, I’m many things-and I always will be. Even so, I am an artist overall.

My art is meant to make others feel, reflect, and think. I seek to use my art to further establish and cement the foundation that's already been laid for the future, and for people out there to bring their art to life authentically-especially POC. They all need to know that it doesn’t matter where or what they come from-none of it defines them. They don’t have to be or feel limited. What I consider success beyond The Lord blessing my own family and loved ones or me helping them. It's making sure there is a strong foundation for future generations to excel. What I consider success is beyond myself and what I do in this life.

Humans are creative, hopeful creatures, capable of both creation and destruction. What I don’t believe is that one can truly be an artist without living and experiencing this life beyond a routine. I’m not just referring to one who paints physical images or creates music. There are billions of people on this planet, and we are all significantly insignificant, perfectly imperfect individuals. We’re one, yet individual. We are beautiful. Everyone is an artist, art is everywhere-but one must discover and embrace their art. We are creatures that need to express ourselves, and art is expression.

Despite the fact that there are billions of people on this planet, and we may share things in common with one another, we are individuals. There will never be one like you or I, and there never can be. This isn't hubris or pride-it's a fact. There are things about an individual that are unique to them specifically, and only that individual can do those things. I'm one that believes that love is the foundation of all art and beauty in this life. I believe in showing love and support to everyone, and that we are meant to be reflections of love to one another.

There are many creatives, performers, and people that have always inspired me-artists. As a Black person or POC, you're unfortunately disadvantaged in this world. There are many people that have worked hard and sacrificed for me. I want them to find peace in knowing they didn't waste their energy, resources, and time. There are many Black men, women, and POC that have worked hard so that people that look like us can achieve their dreams and be able to be themselves. Denzel Washington, Chadwick Boseman, Morgan Freeman, Samuel L. Jackson, Will Smith, Idris Elba, Ryan Coogler, Jordan Peele, Tyler Perry, Whoopie Goldberg, Angela Bassett, Alfre Woodard, Halle Berry, Viola Davis, Daniel Kaluuya, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, and many more. I serve no idols, but these people, these legends, inspire me everyday to wake up and chase my dreams.

I was in the fifth grade when Black Panther was released in February 2018. Yes, I remember specific dates. I was very eager to watch it, but my parents said I could only go if I scored good grades on my report card. Most of my grades were good at the time, but it was just math. I always hated math. I was so nervous that my math grade would ruin the chances of me going to see it. My report card came in, and MY GRADES WERE ALL GOOD. Black Panther made me feel many emotions. I was happy, excited, inspired, mesmerized, and proud-but I also felt anger and sadness. Why? THE STORY. Beyond the African cultural representation and performances, the story made me FEEL, THINK, and be INSPIRED. That's my mission as an artist.

I've always wanted to be cast in the MCU. Seeing the castings of young people like Iman Vellani, an absolute nerd like me, fueled the spark in me. She reminded me that it's not impossible. Dreams can happen if one truly believes and works hard enough-as cliché as it may sound. I’ve dreamed of starring in or creating a comic book project in my career. Either Marvel or DC, but preferably Marvel. Specifically in a Black Panther project or film. Possibly like playing an older version of Toussaint (T’Challa II) from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. I’ve felt connected to and touched by the world of Wakanda most of my life through comics and toys, but especially cinematically. Watching the rich cast of stars, who look like me, bring a world of characters so dear to me to life on the big screen felt astronomical. It made me feel a special way no other films necessarily had. Being so drawn, I made it a dream of mine to be part of that world. Chadwick Boseman was and will always be one of my biggest inspirations in this life. I know there are many other young and ambitious people out there like me-but I know I’m different. My values drive me: belief, faith, gratitude, humility, and love. I seek to not only be called, but chosen.
