Xuan Ru is an early childhood leader, who thinks deeply about people (children, teachers and parents) and the connections that ties us all together. She is reflective and while she loves theories, she seeks ideas that are practical and meaningful. Although Xuan Ru does not remember a playful childhood, she is on a journey to find playful moments in the present. She believes that when adults play, it nourishes and fills their cups. This supports adults' wellbeing as they continue pouring into the lives of the children in their care.
In caring for children’s wellbeing, we often overlook the wellbeing of the adults around them. Beyond quick answers or strategies, this sharing seeks to ask deep questions, raise our awareness and challenge our understanding of play. Not play as a child-focused activity, but as a restorative practice for adults as human beings. Are you ready to keep playing?
