Aby Chau is the Founder/CEO of PLAY CONNECT, a new Singapore-based social enterprise dedicated to creating spaces where children can truly be children. With over 25 years of experience as a Hospital Play Specialist, Playworker, Trainer, and Director at Playright in Hong Kong, she has advanced free play culture and adventure playgrounds. PLAY CONNECT is honored to host the PARS Singapore Hub, delivering the accredited UK playwork course and supporting training, practice, and advocacy work by connecting global play experts with local communities.
Mian Chen, Head of the Chinese Department at Mosaic Preschool, is a dedicated supporter of free play and an active advocate for its integration into early childhood education.
Through reflections on more than 20 years of play advocacy, this session will share both successes and lessons learned in advancing children’s right to play. Participants will gain insights into the challenges and breakthroughs of building a free play culture, and understand how these experiences inform current practice. The recent collaboration with Mosaic Preschool will serve as a practical case example, illustrating how training, practice, and advocacy can come together to create meaningful change for children.
