Eternal truth is a web game simulator about an online cult. The deeper you wander into their website, the more disturbing secrets you discover about the deity hidden insdie the web. In order to make this game as creepy as possible there was also a reddit and fake news article.
The game works through hidden links, weird ads and capcha games. The aesthetics aer supposed to remind the player of old, badly designed websites that encourage a spiritual way of living.
This project is currently a work in progress
While looking through websites there is a reacurring topic of souls and the importance of them to the creator. Many websites try to lead the player into handing over their soul or strenghtening it before submitting to the deity.
Eternal Soul has a huge following, many posting about their own life on the website in form of blogs or even forum posts. They have one thing in common and that is theri endless and blind dedication towards their leader.
Eternal truth was born as a simple and easy to execute idea. It should allow as much creative space as possible while also allowing us to call it finished at any point in time.Â
I simply wanted a game that would make the player visibly react to the content, excited to read even more of whats usually known as a text wall. A theme of an online cult seemed fitting for that kind of game concept, making the game a comedy/horror mix, crossing the line between game and reality.
