Here is a collection of screenshots and descriptions of themes that have been contributed to Oh My Zsh. There are some missing from this page. If you want to add or edit descriptions, see the format description at the bottom of this page.
We use manually-constructed screenshots because some of the themes require additional terminal configuration to look their best, and so the code in example shell sessions can showcase the theme's features. There is also a separate collection of automatically-generated screenshots linked at the bottom of this page.

The current set of theme screenshots was generated automatically by @Kovah's Oh My Zsh-screenshot-generation tool, using on macOS Mojave (10.14.5) with the macOS Terminal app. The used theme is Basic with the default settings and colors. The font was switched to Fira Code at 13 pt to enable some special characters in certain themes. All terminal windows have a size of 100x31.

Use the AT Generator module (included in AT Tool) to generate unlimited themes, clones of themes, and even skin themes. You never interact with Adaptivetheme (at_core) directly, it simply provides the advanced features used by your sub-themes.

There are 1,000s of free WordPress themes in the WordPress.org Theme Directory and even more from third-party directories and shops. Many people and businesses also have bespoke (custom-made) themes for their sites.
Block themes are the modern method of building WordPress themes. They generally follow a standard set of conventions and are built entirely out of blocks. This handbook will primarily focus on building themes using this method because it is the future of the WordPress project.
Classic themes use a PHP-based templating system, which is still supported in WordPress today. They are still in wide use because they were built on the theming system that was first introduced in 2005 with the launch of WordPress 1.5. There is a long and deep history of classic theming in WordPress, which continues on. For this reason, the handbook maintains documentation for classic themes in the Classic Themes chapter.
Unlike block themes, classic themes have far fewer standards to adhere to, but there are APIs you can use for specific features. The classic theme creation process also requires some minimal PHP, HTML, and CSS code knowledge, at least.
For example, say you build a theme with a portfolio feature. Users who build their portfolio with your feature will lose it when they change themes. By leaving critical features to plugins, you make it possible to change the design of a website while its features remain intact.
NOTE: All default themes now come bundled with block patterns, which allow you to easily create beautiful layouts. Find out which patterns are added to themes on the Make WordPress Blog.
Most of themes in WordPress Theme Directory come with installation instructions, especially the ones that may require more steps than the usual theme installation. Be sure to read through and follow those instructions for the successful installation of the Theme. If your Theme does not work after following any provided instructions, please contact the Theme author for help.
A block theme is a theme that uses blocks for all parts of a site, including navigation menus, header, content, and site footer. These themes are built for the newest features coming to WordPress that allow you to edit and customize all parts of your site.
Now that new Theme is in /wp-content/themes/ directory (whether you used Administration Screens, cPanel or FTP method), this new Theme is ready to be activated. All themes in /wp-content/themes/ directory are available for Activation and Update (when update is provided by theme author), but only one theme from this directory can be Active.
Whichever the case, you are welcome to join the Themes Team and their dedicated #themereview Slack channel. In that channel, you can ask for help on developing themes for WordPress Theme Directory or even start reviewing themes yourself.

Strategic themes connect the enterprise strategy to a portfolio, as shown in Figure 1. They distill strategic factors such as the enterprise vision, competitive environment, and existing portfolio context into concise, actionable, measurable goals. Strategic themes are best stated in Objective and Key Result (OKR) format. Written in plain business language, these OKRs say what the portfolio will pursue, thus providing decision-makers and contributors at all levels the clarity needed for decentralized decision-making.
Portfolio leaders use strategic themes to steer the portfolio and to communicate to ARTs and teams the value of Solutions to the enterprise. Similarly, ARTs and teams maintain alignment with business objectives by referencing strategic themes as they define and deliver work in the form of Epics and Features.
These leaders gather key inputs, synthesize a portfolio strategy that enables the enterprise strategy, and craft strategic themes to guide the Agile teams and ARTs in the portfolio. The group meets regularly to measure, adjust, and refine strategic themes. Many organizations formulate new strategic themes annually, as well as decide which ones should persist for another year.
Strategic themes have their genesis in enterprise vision and strategy. Though the primary focus of SAFe is building solutions rather than crafting enterprise vision and strategy, the SAFe delivery organization must understand both to be an effective partner in achieving them. Strategic themes are aligned with enterprise vision and strategy through the process of portfolio strategy formulation.
Enterprise executives craft and periodically refine the enterprise strategy in response to changing business needs. The strategy can be developed internally or with trusted advisors. It will generally persist for several years and manifests as OKRs or another format that suits the enterprise. Typically, a subset of the enterprise strategy relates to delivering digitally enabled solutions, which is the domain of SAFe. This subset must be identified and incorporated into portfolio strategy formulation and its related strategic themes.
Based on the above inputs, enterprise and portfolio leaders and stakeholders establish the portfolio strategy and write strategic themes. While there is no set way to facilitate these discussions, arriving at these differentiated business objectives often involves an iterative cycle of ideating, refining, and finalizing.
Strategic themes are written in plain business language, with clear measures. If achieved, they will deliver business results that advance the enterprise strategy. They can be written as a simple phrase or using the preferred approach of OKRs as per the example in Figure 4. OKRs provide a simple, structured approach to creating alignment and engagement around measurable and ambitious goals. Every objective is accompanied by three to five key results that often represent a mix of leading and lagging indicators. In addition to strategic themes, initial value stream budgets result from portfolio strategy formulation. These budgets fund and support the people who build the solutions that bring the strategy to fruition. Further information on value stream budgets can be found in the Lean Budgets article.
