Founded and managed by Eleni and Dr Chrysa Themeli, the centre has earned a reputation for its high examination success rates, innovative teaching methods, and personalised student support. It serves approximately 100 families, offering face-to-face and online courses in several languages, and actively participates in European educational programmes such as Erasmus+.
The centre’s educational philosophy combines traditional language acquisition with cutting-edge research and technology. This includes the use of artificial intelligence in language learning, Socratic-dialogue-based teaching, and gamified storytelling through innovative projects such as Readco-ai.eu.

Vision statement: Themeli is a private organisation providing foreign-language instruction to children and adults. It was established in Ilion, Athens, in 1995, and more than 3,000 students have completed their courses.
As an educational research centre, it focuses on the potential applications of learning technologies and on certifications based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), which provides a framework for language teaching, learning, and assessment.
The organisation’s vision is to promote intercultural awareness and provide high-quality lifelong learning for people of all ages. Language skills are at the heart of building the European Education Area. They are essential for mobility, cooperation, and mutual understanding across borders.
Our pedagogical approach can be summarised in the following statement:
“Connect people, design technology-enhanced learning (TEL) pedagogy, and skills and content will improve.”
(Themeli, 2022)
