These are the Key features of how "numerical values" were represented in Egyptian Number system!

1 is sybolized as a simple vertical line ( | ).

10 is symbolized by a hock ( ∩ ).

100 is symbolized by a scroll (≈).

1,000 is symbolized as a lotus flower (𓆼).

10,000 is symbolized by bent stick (𓂭).

100,000 is symbolized as a tadpole or frog (𓆗)

1,000,000 is represented by a man with raised arms (𓁨).

FACT BIZZARE

The Egyptian number system is one of the oldest numeral systems in the world, dating back to around 3000 BCE!!

It was used by ancient Egyptians for everyday activities like trade and construction.

LETS TRY SOLVING SOME QUESTIONS :

QUESTION 1 ( EXAMPLE )

a) What Number is represented by 𓆼 ∩ ∩ | | ?

b) Write the Egyptian symbols for 324.

Answer

a) 𓆼 → 1000 , ∩ ∩ → 10 + 10 = 20 , | | → 1 + 1 = 2

so in total we have 1000 + 20 + 2 = 1,021

Answer = 1, 021

b) ≈ ≈ ≈ → 100 + 100 + 100 = 300, ∩ ∩ → 10 + 10 = 20 , | | | | → 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4

so if we recheck our answer it leads us to 300 + 20 + 4 ,which is "324"
