What is Addition?
Addition is the process of combining two or more numbers to find their total.
QUESTION 1 ( EXAMPLE )
a) What is 25 + 13?
b) What is 30 + 10?
Answer
a) Start by adding the ones place: 5 + 3 = 8.
Then, add the tens place: 2 + 1 = 3.
Combine them: 25 + 13 = 38.
Answer
b) Start by adding the ones place: 0 + 0 = 0
Then add the tens place 3 + 1 = 4
combine them: the answer is 40
