The Village of the Dreaming Tree is located under the massive sprawling branches of the Dreaming Tree. Perhaps the liveliest area in the Lost Kingdom, this medieval-themed area is home to friendly entities, including scholarly ogres, elven mages, and wandering dwarves.
The Dreaming Tree itself is the beacon for this area. It dominates the skyline of the village, with its thick and towering trunk reaching upward, appearing to surpass the highest nearby mountain peak. The branches even emerge from the crumbling ancient temple, where mages and acolytes guard the Tree against unsavory creatures intending to use it for their nefarious purposes. The roots erupt from the grounds of the village, including inside their homes. A slight inconvenience, perhaps, but this area appears to be the liveliest and safest world to be in inside the Lost Kingdom.
The Village has several sights for wanderers and adventurers to experience: a tour inside the fabled Temple of the Dreaming Tree (The Dreaming Tree: Battle for the Nine Realms) and the Atheneum (Mystery of the Dreaming Tree), a feast for the senses inside the Fortune and Folly tavern, and several shops where they can replenish their quest supplies.
Located at the very heart of the Village, this attraction serves as the land's centerpiece attraction. You and your fellow adventurers will be embarking on magical carriages and going on a thrilling quest through the nine realms connected to the Dreaming Tree. A word of caution: evil forces are waiting to take control of the Dreaming Tree and its power throughout the journey. Are you up for the challenge?
This attraction serves as the centerpiece attraction of the Lost Kingdom. Through the use of trackless ride vehicles themed to fantastical horseless carriages, guests will be traveling on the branches of the Dreaming Tree and stepping into and protecting the other eight realms (the other 8 Disney lands in the style of Winsor McCay of Little Nemo fame) connected to it.
Guests are invited to tour the Temple of the Dreaming Tree and the realms connected to the tree itself. After boarding their respective carriages, guests will be taken on a tour of the other eight realms connected to the Dreaming Tree. These eight realms are
First we go to Mickey’s Toontown, and we see all of the cartoon characters who live there...
...then we go into Fantasyland and see characters like Tinker Bell, Pinocchio...
...from there we go through Tomorrowland...
...to Main Street, U.S.A...
...and then to Adventureland...
...then onto New Orleans Square...
...after that to Critter Country, and finally Frontierland; all while seeing each land’s real inhabitants, like cowboys and space astronauts.
In Frontierland, the Mind Flayer appears and announces his intent to conquer all nine realms using the world tree, by harnessing its “dream power”, to create the most nightmare-ish army possible. The Mind Flayer has awoken from his 1000 year long slumber, and is out to conquer all nine realms.
The grand Mage (who is 10000 years young and looks about 60) then appears and we have a good, the bad, and the ugly style standoff, leading immediately into a wand fight.
Guests can repel the Mind Flayer and interact with the The ride and the land’s environment using wands in the ride vehicle (which will use Bluetooth or some tech). Eventually, guests will arrive at the Mage’s cottage, who transports them to the area around the World tree.
The Mage begins to battle with the Mind Flayer, but learns that the Mind Flayer is stronger than he is, so he encourages the guests to go to the base of the tree and use the wands provided in the ride vehicles to activate their dreams by pointing at the tree’s roots. When that happens, there is a large light, and an army of unicorns and pegasi come and overwhelm the Mind Flayer and his henchmen.
The Mage and the temple guard congratulate you all for you help and positive dreams that helped save the universe from tyranny.
Housed in the Atheneum (otherwise known as the library), curious guests meet the orge-like creature know as the Porter. Do not let his fearsome appearance throw you off, as he is the master of the Scholar's Guild, and is the most knowledgeable about the origins of the Dreaming Tree. You'll be forgiven if that's not immediately apparent, as the show opens with him sitting down apparently asleep (if those snores are anything to go by). But once awakened by another scholar (cast member), the snoozing giant will wake and stand up to his full towering height.
Using the relatively diminutive replica of the tree, the Porter will expound on what the Dreaming Tree is, what it can do, and the benefits (and dangers) such a power has to to offer. He will also tell you that there are still many mysteries associated with the tree, such as who built the shrine, where are they now, and how did the tree come into being.
Using a mix of lighting effect, scrims, and animatronics, this show run continuously every 30 minutes.
