Watch Out!

"I just need a bit more!" I exclaimed as I sifted through my saved allowance. A new video game had just came out! My best friend had already gotten it. Sleekly designed with a 3-D colourful screen and the latest technology, it was amazing! If that wasn't enough, there was a promotion at the store, "What a steal!" my friend, James, crowed.

Pressing my nose against the glass, I grimaced at how James would laugh at me mercilessly. I needed 10 more dollars. Just 10! Entering the shop, I asked the shopkeeper, "Sir, can I please have a discount?" 

"No", he bellowed back at me. Then his face softened, "Your friend has it? I know him. James right? There is already a discount. Sorry." As I blushed furiously, he turned away to assist another boy buying what I wanted.

Without thinking, I reached forward and grabbed a handful of coins. Feeling greedy, I just took it. I wnated it so badly, even though I had other games at home. Before that, I looked around cautiously, checking to see if anyone had been watching. Despite wanting it, I was'n't a fool waiting to get in trouble." Now, the shopkeeper had tapped my shoulder. "Hey, I'll let you off as you're a minor. Don't do it next time!" He chided. 

"Oh", I squeaked, dropping the coins in his counter and blushing a furious, flaming red. I dashed out as fast as a cheetah.

From then on, I learned a critical lesson:

1. Don't steal

2. Don't break the law
