Address unmet medical needs by developing innovative therapeutic strategies based on bioactive natural products.
Our research initially focused on intractable skin diseases, particularly atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. Through our research in psychodermatology, we found that mice with chronic skin conditions exhibit increased susceptibility to stress and are prone to developing depressive and anxiety-like behaviors. This prompted us to extend our research to behavioral analyses of depression, anxiety, and hyperactivity in stress-induced animal models.
