Welcome! I’m Dr. Matthew (Matt) Kolmann, Assistant Professor of Biology at the University of Louisville. Our lab, the M.E.E.N. Fishes Lab, studies the evolution of feeding systems, form-function relationships, and ecological interactions in fishes and other vertebrates. We combine fieldwork, CT-based anatomy, biomechanics, phylogenetics, and ecology to ask why organisms look and perform the way they do.
