It was early morning, the women were in a hurry to run toward the tomb. Their minds were filled with thoughts of who would roll the stone away for them from the door of the tomb, as it was very heavy, and they did not have the strength to put it away to enter the tomb. They were the ones who provided for Jesus when He was alive, and now when He was dead, they were ready to do whatever was now possible, and that was to anoint His body with sweet-smelling spices. Those days the tomb was in a cave and a stone would be placed at the entrance. As they walked nearer, they had a bit of peace when they saw the huge circular stone rolled back from the entrance of the tomb. But there awaited a surprise for them, they could not find the body of Jesus inside the tomb. Jesus died 2 days before and was placed in that tomb, where they came searching. They searched all around, but in vain instead, they met some different-looking beings who gave them a bit of information about Jesus. They said to the woman, “Why do you search for the one who is living among the dead? He is not here, He has risen from the dead. He is alive now. ” They never heard of such things before, so they were amazed and confused at the same time. The words were strange and the beings who told them these things looked different as if they were from another planet. Their appearance was like lightning, and their clothes were as dazzling, shining, and white as snow. They looked like creatures who hardly live on earth and who occasionally come to earth to do some work, the manuscripts describe them as ‘angels’. Hence, their words also seemed very promising to the women.

The women left the tomb with great joy and astonishment, as the one whom they came seeking, is not dead now but alive, and they ran to tell the good news to their friends. Their joy knew no bounds when they met Jesus alive on their way back to their homes. They went and reported it to those who had been with Him, while they were depressed and weeping. When they said that He was alive and they had seen Him, some did not believe them, and it seemed to be idle tales, as they had never seen anyone coming back to life after death, while others put some effort to go and check whether the tomb was empty or not. After these things happened, they gathered together in a room to discuss these matters, and suddenly Jesus stood among them. When they saw Him, they were startled and terrified and thought that they were seeing a spirit, as they knew that after a person dies, only the spirit will be left. But Jesus showed them His hands and his legs which had the nail marks of crucifixion on them and told them to touch Him and see so that they would realize that He is not a spirit, but He had flesh and bones as someone who had a physical body. Since they still could not believe it, because of their mixed emotions of joy and amazement, He asked them for a piece of broiled fish, and He took it and ate it in front of them. This was a treat for them to see Jesus alright and alive after 3 days of His death because Jesus was the one who gave them new hope for life and solved all their problems so that they had rest and peace from daily chaos and problems.

On another day, to help them completely believe that He is the same Jesus who lived with them and is now alive after death, He performed a miracle. Miracles are events that are extraordinary and have no control over the laws of nature and things that seem impossible to happen. Jesus’ friends went fishing, and they couldn’t find anything the entire night and on the next morning Jesus told them to cast the net on the right side of the boat, so they threw the net out but could not pull it back in, because they had caught net full of fishes. Miracles were something that defined Jesus because He often performed them before His death. When He performed miracles again, for what He was known for, it was easy for them to identify and completely believe that He was alive again. Before His final meeting with them, they all had breakfast together. Their breakfast consisted of bread and fish. Fishes were those that they just caught after the miracle. This was the last feast they had together with Jesus. Jesus was about to leave them and also leave the earth. He did not have to die again to leave the earth, as it is the usual way to leave the earth. He had His last meeting with them at a mountain in a place called Galilee. After giving them certain instructions about their future, He was ready to leave the earth as He finished the task that He was about to perform on this earth. He was taken up to heaven as they watched him, and a cloud took Him up out of their sight. They still had their eyes fixed on the sky as he went away when two men dressed in white (angels) suddenly stood beside them and said, “Why are you standing there looking up at the sky? This same Jesus, who was taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way that you saw him go to heaven.” Jesus appeared to more than five hundred men and women after rising from the dead, presented Himself alive before them many times in ways that proved beyond doubt that he was alive for over forty days, and talked to them about the things concerning the place He was going. 

After spending 33 and 1/2 half years on this earth, Jesus who lived like a human died but his life did not end like how it would happen for other humans. Death is inevitable, we cannot stop it from happening, but we can stop the consequences that come along with it. The grave thing about death is that the person cannot be found again, and it is equal to the end of existence of that person. Jesus introduced a new concept of rising again after death. His resurrection paved a way for the start of new life after death. Many think that after death, we cannot have a body again, cannot talk, discuss, identify with people, have friends, eat food, etc., as these are the qualities of a person who has a physical body, but the reality is, the creator who gave us a body to live on this earth, can also give us a body like how Jesus had a body, to live a life that never ends, even after our life on this earth. 

To demonstrate the above concept to many, Jesus appeared to them for about 40 days before going to heaven so that it will be easy for them to understand this new concept. Jesus was taken up to heaven before the eyes of the people, so that humans may know that life not only exists on earth but also exists in heaven. People can also live in heaven just like the earth. Jesus who was alive after death revealed to people that heaven has many places just like the earth to remain alive and live comfortably. His way of living on earth after rising from death is an example of a way of living in heaven. If Jesus who lived like a human on this earth, can rise back from death, we humans can also live life again after death. If Jesus can enter heaven after living on earth, we humans also can get an opportunity to live in heaven after our life on this earth. 

One of the miracles that Jesus did during His life on earth was to raise people from the dead. Before performing this miracle, He would always quote that they are not dead but are sleeping and must be woken up. He meant to say that death is just like a sleeping experience. We are conscious of ourselves and our surroundings before we sleep, we lose our consciousness when we are sleeping, and then we regain our conscience back again when we rise from sleep. Similarly, humans are conscious before death and will also be conscious after death. Our flesh or body gets destroyed on this earth, but our soul remains. Just like how Jesus got a body after rising back from death, the creator will provide us a new body for our soul after we rise back from death. The people of this earth may think that the person who dies is completely gone after death, but it is not true, the soul & the conscience still exists. It is impossible to continue our life on this earth after death because the earth is corrupted, and hence it offers a limited life that has an end. Earth does not have a concept of never-ending life. So, to live a never-ending life, the place we live should be uncorrupted and must have a concept of no death.

The new body that will be provided to us after our death will not be like the old one. It will have some similarities along with some differences. The friends of Jesus believed Him but still had a doubt, as Jesus’ new body had some changes & had some differences from the previous one. He had similar attributes, but some were quite different from them after His resurrection. Whenever we buy a new mobile phone or any other gadget, we always check for new options and updates, so let’s look at some of the new updates in the new or resurrected body of Jesus. The laws of nature which control our body had no control over His new body. His qualities did not put Him under the powers of the earth. He could overpower the natural things or the restrictions of the earth as He could enter a room without passing through the door, He was taken up into heaven against the gravitational force, traveling to heaven from earth seemed to be quick and easy than traveling from India to America. He didn’t need a vehicle to travel from one place to another or from ground level to high up. He had no travel restrictions, had no need for a ticket, passport, or visa to travel from one place to another, and was able to travel to any place at the speed of thought. Whenever He thought of going to any place, He was present at that place before He could finish thinking about that place. He could know the discussions of people without being physically present in that place. He had options to choose who should see Him and who should not. He could make Himself visible and invisible at any moment. Physical weakness, hunger, sickness, fear, anger, worry, pain, hatred, depression, lust, pride, evil thoughts, selfishness, greediness which define humans had no control over Him. Some of the similarities which He had were He could eat, talk, think, walk, can feel and touch, able to understand concepts, converse and discuss different matters, teach others, had emotions and feelings, etc., similar to people on the earth. These are some of the attributes which we will have in the new body provided to us after death. His attributes were perfectly suited for living in a better place than on earth. The search for a better place has begun on this earth in the form of the search for life on other planets, as the earth has got less time for its survival.

The best place which is uncorrupted, where the atmosphere is completely filled with selfless love, absolute goodness, and extreme peace is called “Heaven”. The clothes of the people who live there are dazzling and bright, which reveals the status of their hearts of extreme purity, like clothes washed with a quality detergent. We don’t need to put much effort to be like them. But a detergent is available for our hearts to be purified to live a life again after death. The blood of Jesus Christ is the detergent that makes our hearts as flawless as a child’s heart if only we desire and choose to use it. The life lived there is without worry, fear, anger, envy, hatred, weakness, problems, lust, pride, death, pain, etc. Heaven is a place where people who leave the earth can meet again to live together happily ever after.
