We have been always told to live our lives to the fullest, enjoy as much as we can, eat, be merry and cheer up, not because life is beautiful, but because there is no option left for us other than that, as the phrase ‘One Life’ makes it seem promising. We know that there is this one thing that we have no control over at all, something that we human beings are unable to predict, and that is the day when we have to say goodbye to our life on earth. Even grey hair and shivering hands do not make it easy for an individual to guess their farewell day on earth. The existence of the word ‘farewell’ for this journey called ‘Life’ takes us into this new concept which we hardly think about in our busy routines, known as “Limit”. Along with human beings, birds, wild and domestic creatures, plants, trees, and inanimate objects of the earth, all have a day to stop working or living. The existence of the last day in our lives conveys that we are all limited or restricted after a certain period. We are all allocated or given a fixed time to spend on this earth. We think that this is the way of life. But there is a reason for this kind of limit imposed upon the beings of this earth. There is a reason why nothing stays forever on this earth. There is a cause for life to be indeed too short.

        To understand the reason behind this limit, we need to go to our school days, where we have learned the basics. In the initial days of our school, we used pencils to write and draw with the hope that erasers erase anything that would go wrong. Here, the limelight is not on the pencil but on the eraser that erases. Erasers erase the things that are not right or the things that might not have a good result. They are also used to keep the paper free from any errors. From an essay we write to a picture we draw, we erase stuff that is not made right. Mistakes are the reason for erasers to be invented. Any errors left unerased may result in messing up the whole work. So even a little kid knows that errors or faults must be erased or deleted for good or clean work to be generated. We have learned from childhood that mistakes should not be continued and must be erased or stopped somewhere to prevent their outcome. Erasing errors have become a necessity.

        A robber who loots away precious possessions from people's places is being chased by a squad, to be stopped somehow from continuing his work. All the nations of the world have a team of policemen, army, lawyers and judges, etc., working so hard day and night to restrict or stop a set of people. Their main goal is to stop the individuals from being capable of working or moving further easily. The prisons are full of people who are stopped or restricted from functioning normally as others do. But what could be the need for a group of people to be behind another group of people just to stop them from working? They are behind these distinct candidates whose advancing work might cause trouble resulting in serious consequences to the globe. We human beings are smart enough to know that anything that causes harm should be restricted or limited. Here restriction or limitation seems to be on a positive note, as it is good to limit evil. Limiting evil decreases its outcome and protects the good from being harmed. Preventing the corrupt from progressing ahead will stop their power from ruining society.

        It is good to know that the people whose actions or work may cause trouble or harm are restricted. This restriction is not applied to the people but indirectly to their work that harms others. But what relation does the above concept has with all the people of the earth, to be restricted after a certain age or timespan of spending their lives on the earth? All the members of the earth do not participate in activities that might lead them to end up in prison, then why is the constraint applied to everyone on the planet? Why life is too short for all the beings of the earth? All human beings born on this earth naturally possess good and bad characteristics. But according to human nature, wrong characters overpower the good ones and we seldom choose the right over the wrong. The result is we don’t need to teach a child to speak lies, to hide things, to be naughty, or to do any other mischiefs. Even without training, a little child can be a good performer of the above things. These characters grow along with us and produce the wrong fruits in the upcoming days. 

            We don’t need to be taught to be selfish or greedy about the things that are considered honorable among others. The way that a group of villagers envied the beautiful, flavourful, and succulent mangoes of a particular villager, which made the mango tree never produce yummy mangoes again, conveys to us that even jealousy has got some power which may result in destruction, where the cause goes unnoticed. Meditating over and over on the fraud, treachery, or betrayal done to us by others and not being able to forgive them and us, leads to bitterness causing sickness in our own body. In anger, we want to defeat others either by words or by action. Being extremely passionate about the things that belong to others, may lead us to go to any extent to achieve them. Pride and arrogance work together to pull others down & snatch success from the deserving, as we can't see others doing better in life than us. Trying to pull each other down in such a way will lead to no one’s progress. The extreme love of money and luxuries have caused a man to go to any extent to exploit natural resources without any limit. Human activity has polluted the life-givers i.e. water and air, which in turn have harmed the health of humans and other species. Deforestation results in climate change, global warming, soil erosion, floods, wildlife extinction, habitat loss, acidic oceans, and a decline in the quality of life of people. Earth is at a great loss because of the misuse of sand, water sources, minerals, fossil fuels, trees, soil, etc.

By this, we know that we have enough sources of dangers staying well inside of us. It seems that the evil that we hold inside of us is more dangerous than the evil, people, put behind the bars possess. If such evil continues to grow, it will result in many evil consequences never heard or imagined before. We human beings have got so much power inside of us to grow and plant or to uproot and destroy, but we spend the maximum energy on the latter one. That's why after a particular age, little by little, we lose all our strength, wisdom, logical reasoning, etc., because if not, we would have used, even those days to do wrong with all our might and strength, as every imagination or intent of the thoughts of the human heart is only evil continually.  The evil overpowering the good is the reason for humans' downfall.

Evil is in the atmosphere of the earth. Evil surrounds this earth. Anything that has its existence on this earth falls prey to it. Thus, all the beings including humans, birds, wild and domestic creatures, plants, trees, and inanimate objects of the earth carry the sources of evil and must be restricted or stopped at some point, indirectly to stop the evil that these beings carry, just like how students are disciplined or controlled by teachers or parents from continuing the actions which are not productive. That’s exactly how we don’t consume the products bought from supermarkets after their expiry date, a date until which a product remains productive, as their consumption after a certain period may cause harm to the consumer and must be discarded. Hence, all the beings of the earth are allotted a short life span to spend on this earth, not to restrict them but to restrict the evil or sources of harm that they carry inside of them.

These days evil has taken its most powerful form. As human wisdom and technology have increased, humans have been spending most of their energy and brains causing trouble to one another and the earth. The power that evil holds is destroying life slowly by slowly, thereby introducing a short life span for the living and non-living things of this earth. The limitations imposed upon the things of this earth is the limitation indirectly given for the evil to stop or limit its power, otherwise have led to an impact causing quick destruction to this earth. We are all heeding to our limit because we originated in evil, living in evil and ending in evil. We have a short time to spend on this earth because of the evil that we carry inside of us, as evil has got power, and that power makes things limited. The way prison limits the evil inside prisoners, our farewell on earth, limits the evil we hold inside us, thereby limiting its power. As time progresses, the earth is in the slow process of being erased from its existence because of the evil or sources of harm it carries in its atmosphere.

So now we are left with a few things to ponder. They are, whether the beings had lived on the earth endlessly or permanently if evil was never present on this earth, whether evil was present on this earth from the beginning of earth's existence, and if everything has to come to an end, what hope do humans have hereafter?
