Welcome to The Kind Starter! I’m Deanna, the hands and heart behind every loaf that leaves my kitchen here in Madisonville.

What started as a personal journey into sourdough has grown into a passion for feeding my community. My days are a busy mix of raising five incredible kids and tending to "Bubbly Brenda"—my trusty sourdough starter who works just as hard as I do.

I believe in food that is honest, raw, and made with intention. I’m not a factory; I’m a neighbor baking small-batch, slow-fermented bread meant to be broken and shared. When you buy a loaf from me, you aren't just getting bread; you're supporting a dream and a local family.
