Outreach

Events:

San Jacinto- Figure 2 To kick off the season, went to San Jacinto College to teach new FTC Teams the basis of programming, and reached over 100 individuals, from coaches to students, across 20 teams.

Harmony Science Academy STEM FEST- Figure 4 Reached out to over 500 elementary kids and taught them about first and FTC, we let them drive and engage in the robot game and let them learn about programming and engineering. We were able to advocate for more funding from the Government for the elementary school by showing what STEM can do via FIRST

Camp Cullen- We were offered the opportunity to unwind for two days and nights at the YMCA's Camp Cullen. Throughout the camp, we enjoyed the activities as well as each other's company in the bunks. We set up the game in one of the supplied facilities to work on game strategy and autonomy while also educating guests and the host about FTC and the FIRST Program

Hosting League- We were able to host and run the Houston South-West League Competition in which over 15 teams participated and over 150 students on teams, with more than 20 people unaffiliated with FIRST robotics were able to learn about robotics. We were able to find new ideas, make friends with others, and generally enjoy competing.

Turquoise Turkish Event Center- We were able to visit the Turkish Turquoise Center to host 2 classes. Kids were cheering our name, placing cones for our robot, and overall creating a positive and fun environment. OVERALL, it’s clear that these kids were inspired and joyful for experiencing FTC for the first time.

Loony Squad- The Loony Squad is an international CAD community we interacted with to help us build and see designs that were helpful in the creation of our robot. We interacted with people all around the world and helped them with their problems while they helped us.
