Charity Vote 2020 Results
In the current climate this will be a life buoy to 3 Charities and over the coming weeks we ask you to do what you can to support all the local charities.
Earlier this month the people of the Navan Municipal District voted online to help Navan County Councillor Alan Lawes identify three Registered Charities to receive his Council Discretionary Fund.
Voting took place over 26 days where we reached over 15,000 local people online with 1,107 votes cast. The process and count was witnessed, validated, and has been signed off by 2 independent and notable members of the Johnstown Community.
The 3 following associations received the most public votes and each receive a 'once off' Funding Donation of €5,000 from Cllr Alan Lawes.
Congratulations

Wilkinstown Community Centre
Click to Read More"In 1970 Wilkinstown opened it’s new national school. The school replaced two old schools dating back to the mid 1800’s
Many years later after the school closed a committee was formed to investigate the possibility of converting the building into a community centre, it became apparent the old building was inadequate and a major fundraiser began to fund a new building, by 1990 a considerable amount of money was raised and in 1992 work began.
In 1996 the community centre we have to date was opened, and has serve the community very well over the years. Forward 20+ years and we purchased the a-joining 5 acre field in September 2015.
We now have another major fundraiser in motion to develop the field with a new extension to the building, car park and amenity park all have been granted planning permission by Meath Co. Co. along with a considerable grant.
We hope to break ground in 2020 and get this major project underway. We will have a lot of fundraising events coming u over the next few years to make this project happen and bring you a wonderful community centre to serve the area for many more years to come.
All support in any form is most welcome and we look forward to what the future hold for Wilkinstown. "
