The southern section of Metges Road opposite the Johnstown People's Park has been troublesome to cross for a number of years. 2 Years ago a petition was raised to bring attention to the speed of cars. With the significant rise in peak time traffic crossing the road to access the bus stops is proving more dangerous.

Cllr Sinead Burke recently joined the Taylor's Walking Group to see for herself the safety issues the group experience here and elsewhere along their local routes.

Across the road from Cois Glaisin there's recogniseable house plots for some of the 50 homes under development.

As you drive past you'll notice the woodland area which is being retained and the homes set back at least 30m from the road. This will be the main open area for the estate which is fairly compact.

Reported last year that Councillor Francis Deane called upon Meath County Council to carry out a traffic management report with a view to installing traffic lights at the junction outside Cois Glaisin at Metges Road. The 'report' will be included in the proposed works for 2019.

With the exception of the newest estates of Dunville and Cois Glaisin the local work in South Navan is completed (we think) but we don't have a boundary line to say exactly where the cables extend to.
