Let's Get Active

We all know that a solution to provide a New Community Building within walking distance of Johnstown is not going to happen anytime soon.

We're not just focussing on sports or one particular age group. We would like to see a whole host of activities for every age group from the very young through to the elderly.

We'd like to see it happen now and You might be the one to help start it.

Make Things Happen

Are we content to sit back and wait OR can we move forward by helping ourselves?

We've just experienced the school's Easter Holiday and it won't be long before summer when we'll be searching for distractions and Activity Camps further afield for our children. Could we have something here?

But there are others too such as home parents, the unemployed and the retired who are also missing out on social activities outside the home.

Some solutions might be very simple to arrange.

Residents have Skills, Interests & Hobbies.

There are Groups willing to help.

ENGAGE WITH US

This isn't a one stop fix but it's a step in the right direction.

Last year over 50 Residents responded to the Johnstown Community Facilities Survey indicating that they are willing to help in some way, shape or form.

BUT we don't know who you are?

We would like 'Initiators' to come forward.

If you have some skills, experience or knowledge that could help form, guide or support some activities / hobbies / interests then use the REPLY FORM.

We will arrange a series of small scale meetings where attending is not a commitment it's simply a starting point to see if we can establish groups.

We're not expecting many responses BUT if we were to establish even 1 new active group we'll be supporting our community and it will lead to more.

These are our biggest barriers at the moment and we have ideas for improving on this too.
