Details about the event:
This year, out of 8,800 FTC teams worldwide, only 256 qualified to compete at the Houston Championship. The ISLC Robolutionaries completed three rounds of interviews with different panels of judges and were honored with the Judges' Choice Award.
This award is presented at the judges' discretion to a team that demonstrates unique efforts, performance, or team dynamics worthy of recognition, but does not fit into any of the standard award categories. The judges' citation reads: "No matter their background and environment, every student deserves access to robotics. Through their internship with key partners, this team mentored future FTC collaborators and leaders; they championed for others over themselves."
Team's experience:
Last year, as a rookie team at the LAUSD robotics tournament, we earned the INSPIRE Award Runner-Up along with the Control and Connect Awards at both the district and regional levels. This year, in our second season, we won first place for the INSPIRE Award at the LAUSD Regional Tournament, qualifying us for the FTC 2025 Championship in Houston.

"The most memorable moment of the trip for me was winning matches because it felt very fulfilling to finally be able to compete on the stage and be able to use a robot I had helped build and design." - Andre Mosqueda
