History of Katarina

319 SE

An alliance of the Firebreathers, the Emberbeards, and the Moltenpicks established a small outpost on the island they called Thraindel, now known as Katarina, and begin exploiting a deep and high quality vein of iron.

457 SE

The first humans settled deep inside the island's fjord and built a settlement called Katarina in honor of the Sezjan reining monarch, eventually giving the island the same name.

741 SE

During the Riftforge War, the three clans evacuated their installations on Thraindel and, after carefully hiding them, abandoned the island to the growing human population. 

923 SE

The Winter War occurs on the island of Katarina when a rebel group attempts to overthrow the Archduchess's rule. Hailing from the town of Kseniya, the rebels quickly seized control of the city of Katarina and of the arsenal, but Archduchess Irina escapes to the Winter Palace and gathers a force loyal to her. Her professional soldiers eventually march on Katarina, where the rebels are defeated. Fleeing back to Kseniya, the rebels are besieged and eventually starved into submitting. Seven rebel leaders are executed, several dozens are exiled back to Sezja, and the rest of the rebels are granted clemency and a pardon.

Arrival of Sir Paul Stal on Katarina.

1051 SE

A plague eventually known as the Faceless Fever sweeps through Sezja and Natavia, claiming countless young lives, including, King Stanislas II's infant daughter, Elara.

1066 SE

Mon, Branna, and Marigold arrive on Katarina.

King Stanislas II is the first sovereign of Sezja to visit Katarina.
