Dick and Carey model

In Instructional Design, the ADDIE model, is well known, but the Dick and Carey model follows closely behind. Dick W. and Carey L. had put forth the basic model of Dick and Carey in the year 1979. This model is based on a systematic approach to designing instruction. Every component of the system, i.e. teachers, students, learning material, and learning environment, depends on the input and output of the system. Feedback plays a vital role as it determines if the desired goal of the system has been reached. There are 10 steps involved in the Dick and Carey model:

Robert Gagne's 9 Events of Instruction

Gagne’s Nine Events of instructions help increase the learners' curiosity and motivate them to learn. It encourages using quizzes, puzzles, activities, and leading questions to help stimulate recall.

While presenting new content to the learner, this theory includes using appropriate instructions and case studies, solving activities, examples, and discussions as guide material.

Providing feedback plays a vital role as it helps confirm the correct learning and identify any wrong understanding. While at the final assessment stage, where the learner's performance is assessed, no guidance or hits should be provided.
