The Humanity Project hopes to undertake a number of aid-giving measures and activism efforts, targeting specific and important areas of social and personal life for men and adolescents. Below are a few major endeavors.
Legal counsel for men's reproductive and sexual defense rights
Community outreach for various addiction issues
Mental health clinics and workshops
Fundraising events to support male social acceptance campaigning
The Humanity Project intends to follow a nonviolent contributional strategy to achieve reform, i.e. refusing to play into negative stigma surrounding men and providing valuable positive assistance via social efforts to turn public perception. Specific avenues we hope to campaign through include effective social media presence, petitioning and physical protests, news articles and interviews, and the launch of merchandise aimed to inform about the cause and provide additional funding for community aid.
The two most common questions facing the Humanity Project are Is it even necessary? and How will this affect women's rights? Both questions are deserving of recognition, yet ultimately speak to what ideals the movement is based around as a whole. Men's rights are so critically underdeveloped precisely because such has been dismissed as a non-issue, leading to systemic conditions where inequality permeates and undermines other reform efforts. It is much harder to convince a large percentage men to open their minds to newer ideas, for instance to value mental health or body positivity, when they feel distanced from society and polarized against its views. Additionally, in keeping with the name the Humanity Project, our reforms aim not just to selectively target men but to extend to all others who might share the same needs, whether in an all-encompassing or more individually tailored sense. In short, the Humanity Project aims solely to uplift and not put others down, while serving to improve societal tolerance and community aid efforts.
The most difficult roadblock to men's rights comes in the form of their validation as a real and legitimate need for change. Many would be quick to write it off as pushback by keyboard-wielding "incels" or the rising cry of the patriarchy rearing its ugly head once again. Men's rights, in a pure and non-obfuscated sense, should manifest as providing legal and social accreditation and devising solutions to problems more uniquely affecting men. In short, men's rights must unify to determine the course of its success and to ensure justifiable and necessary concerns be met with real and effective action.
