#51. There Isn't Enough Room Up Here - (BFDIA 2 & 5)
This one is short but quick.
Gelatin is flying on Puffball with Needle, Spongy, Book, and Ice Cube. And notices he is losing his balance. Gelatin then proclaims "There isn't enough room up here". We aren't quite sure what he is going to do at this point until just a few seconds later he pushes Spongy, Book, and Ice Cube off to make more room for himself and Needle. They fall off of Puffball and fall thousands of feet into the ground.
Everything seems fine.
Oh, look! They're flying.
Down they go.
Now there is a lot to unpack here, first of all, he THREW THEM OFF FROM 6000 FEET IN THE AIR! Now they did land safely (As safe as a forest with Evil Leafy can be). Nonetheless, it came out of nowhere and was certainly a shocking moment. I mean what were we really expecting to happen here? Maybe he climbs up to a better space, maybe he sits down, maybe he just carries on? But nope! He chooses to throw three of his teammates off to make room for himself and Needle.
Needle and Puffball aren't very happy.
Now I can't help but notice that the one person he kept on was Needle, the skinniest contestant.
But it gets worse, as they enter Yoyleland, Needle is the only one who could have screwed up as much as she did when she sends crazy Leafy into a spiral by slapping her for saying the word "needy". Of course they end up paying for that mistake, collecting not nearly enough yoyleberries to fix the stew.
Gelatin considers sacrificing Needle.
Gelatin doesn't learn from his mistakes as three episodes later he does the exact same thing. Leading to GB, TB, himself, Firey, and Rocky to be eaten by Evil Leafy. Then the rest of his team gets crushed trying to find them. By the time they all get recovered, they are in last place, costing his team the entire lead they had. They never recovered and were sent to last place.
"Do you realize what you've done?"
"Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
To put it nicely, Gelatin isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.
P.S. When I first watched this episode, this moment was so shocking that I didn't even register that Gelatin threw them off. I genuinely thought they just caught a gust of wind.
