#18. The Perfect Sendoff - (BFDI 11)

This article features Golf Ball...

... and her legendary elimination. Let me set the scene for you. 

Golf Ball, for the past ten episodes has been on a complete path of destruction. Slowly, she was managing to piss off every single character of the show. 

Suffice it to say, Golf Ball was on a direct path to a humiliating elimination. With over half the cast despising her, she would face a terrible and humiliating downfall. Even worse than Pin or Pencil. 

It would be short.

It would be sweet.

It would be perfect. 

Lets detail the events coming up to this. Another Name lost the challenge, and one of their contestants is going to be eliminated. Golf Ball is still believing she is 100% safe. Because of her win token which she only won because unlike some contestants. Tennis Ball knows how to cheat. 

Meanwhile, the Names are now on their way to their Cake at Stake.

And the typical events of such a team happen as expected. 

And Golf Ball plays her win token. Ensuring her safety. 

And now, as the true final blow, Golf Ball has to face six of the contestants, and somehow plead for herself to stay in the game. 

Of course, BFDI is a tragedy and a comedy, happy endings don't happen here. Because once Golf Ball goes on that stage against Rocky. Her death sentence has been written. 

Lets see what the jurors, who have spent the past ten months being nothing but abused by Golf Ball. 

Bubble is first.

So far, that's one vote for Rocky. Zero votes for Golf Ball. 

Whoa there Pen. 

Okay, so this was easily one of the most requested topics people were asking me to talk about. 

It has remained one of the biggest discussion points in all of BFDI. And I'll put in my two cents. 

What the heck were Michael and Cary thinking? That is seriously one of the most messed up lines the show has ever offered. And the second fact that this was only supposed to be a throwaway line makes it all the more interesting to think about. I'm sure the two hadn't thought about that one line for a very long time. Then it started to gain relevance in late 2013, and slowly snowballed into one of the biggest jokes among folks across the internet. Arguably the most horrible thing any character has said, and it came from Pen. A character nobody even cared about, or was even memorable in that era. Of course, Pen is a fan favourite now, but I think we can all expect his past to haunt him once the fanbase learns about this throwaway line from an archaic episode. 

I know that Michael and Cary have renounced what they wrote back in 2011. But the internet isn't a place known for forgiving. I do hope the best for them, however, the situation is going to get worse before it gets any better. 

But back to Golf Ball's humiliating downfall. Let's hear Eraser's opinion.

And here we go, that's three votes for Rocky to stay, and zero for Golf Ball. Match will be the deciding vote, if she wants, she can try and make a tie. But that won't happen.

And there we go, it's going to be at least 4-0, there is no way that Golf Ball is going to recover now. 

Except, just to get a few last kicks in before Golf Ball's certain elimination. They decide to show the rest of the votes. Starting with Snowball, who was never going to vote for Golf Ball anyway. 

And just for good measure, Pencil speaks up. 

And there we go, Golf Ball is UNANIMOUSLY voted out of the game by her peers. Of course, this wouldn't be over without the Announcer jumping in and giving a final insult. 

Oh nevermind, not even Pencil is going to come to her defense. And why should she? They have never liked each other from the beginning, and it's not like Pencil was planning on changing her opinion anyway. Golf Ball has been eliminated unanimously, what does she have to say for herself?

Only Golf Ball could have insulted herself on her own journey out of the game. And as a final sendoff to one of the greatest antagonists of BFDI. She is lowered into a cage full of her enemies. 

Good bye, and good riddance. 

P.S. This article was actually planned to be much lower on the list. And Pen's controversial comment had it's own place on the countdown. I decided since the scenes overlap, that they would be merged to make more space for other articles.
