Our tutoring sessions help children generalize skills learned in the classroom as well as boost their confidence and self-esteem. Whether your child needs remediation or enrichment in content areas, we customize our instruction to meet each individual’s needs.

Our academic tutoring approach takes education from "What don't you understand?" to "How can I support your learning?"

Each child understands math in unique ways. We focus on exposing your child to strategies they will see in school and strengthening the strategies that work for their individual learning style. Our math lessons are taught in a multi-sensory manner to appeal to visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners.

Reading

Reading encompasses a variety of skills: Phonological Awareness, Decoding, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension. After conducting an initial assessment to determine your child’s current levels of performance, learning objectives are targeted and developed with a variety of strategies during each session.  

Handwriting

At The Edsperience Microschool, our educators are trained and experienced in administering the Handwriting Without Tears (now Learning Without Tears) program. Students with a variety of learning needs benefit from this straightforward, multi-sensory method to handwriting instruction. The developmental order of this program teaches children letters in a unique sequence that translates to increased accuracy in letter size, placement and spacing. Handwriting Without Tears letter styles were created to facilitate a natural transition from print to cursive writing. We also assist students with other fine motor skills such as scissor skills and provide activities and assistive tools that strengthen their pincer grasp to promote better handwriting and pencil control.

Clients can customize a tutoring plan to fit their needs. Typically we recommend 1-3 sessions per week. Sessions run from 60-90 minutes. We meet with students in-person only at this time.
