The Double Attraction Paradox is a series that teaches adolescents how to navigate attraction through body language, limerence, and mirroring while understanding the psychology behind emotional connection.

Rem moved to America in 2024, and during that time, he was still familiarizing myself with the way adolescents adapt their lifestyle and environment. During my senior year, he had developed a high school crush on a girl, and her face reminded me of my best friend back in the Caribbean. Initially, he thought it was a one-sided observation until he noticed her non-verbal cues showing reciprocation. Of course, he didn't ask her out because of mutual shyness and fear of rejection.

Because no one had ever reciprocated interest at this level, he wanted to understand how these passive signals create meaning in human behavior, and how they shape adolescent attraction. Hence, he began researching theories on Google Scholar to move past surface-level thinking. There, he discovered common terms such as the push-and-pull cycle, breadcrumbing, ghosting, and many others. When he made the podcast and document, he learned that adolescent relationships and many other interpersonal attractions are highly complex. It's not just about asking someone out, but choosing the right partner who fosters healthy and mature traits.

In April, Rem established a consistent schedule of posting a new episode every Tuesday, which continued until my graduation. However, Season 2 episodes are usually released at random times. You can just follow my podcast for updates.

Attraction as a Hidden Mask is a reflective memoir inspired by Rem's experiences during his senior year. The title uses the hidden mask as a metaphor to symbolize underlying shyness and barriers that prevent one from opening up to a crush. He hopes readers recognise the importance of communication, balancing academics and relationships, and finding the courage to move beyond silence and insecurity to build meaningful connections.

The Double Attraction Paradox presents at least two poems that revolve around Rem's current mindset over his crush over the past couple of months, emphasizing a gradual shift from romantic obsession to intellectual ambition. 

Rem Jaen D. Krafft's When Love Learns to Speak was a Valentine's Day poem he composed in his World Literature SUNY Albany dual-enrollment class. His poem was based on the narrative of Saint Valentine. He applied that concept to the butterflies he was experiencing with his crush. In the final stanza, he explains the mutual shyness of the situationship, waiting for the right moment to break the ice. 

When he tried to reach out digitally, he was left with silence. From that day on, his perspective on crush dynamics began to shift. He discovered that some crushes often obsess over the attention, not genuine love. His pre-chapter 9 poem, High School Peer Pressure and Its Distortion of Clarity, was a reflection on how adolescents attain influence and validation from others instead of emotional accountability and evolving maturity.

By composing two poems, he was describing the butterflies he had with this girl and his personal growth over the past couple of months.

Season 1 is entirely focused on lectures done through research. By incorporating literature, behavioral neuroscience, psychology, non-verbal communication, adolescent attraction, and interpersonal relationships, Rem explains why most adolescents become hyper-fixated with one another. He also lists possible passive cues and attachment styles to prevent second-guessing a crush. At the same time, teenagers can recognize potential red flags and develop emotional maturity to achieve personal growth and effective decision-making skills in forming relationships.

In contrast, Season 2 shifts from lecture to interviews and media interpretations. It applies the Double Attraction Paradox to guest speakers, music, film, and other research papers. This allows listeners to unveil a unique perspective from one's experience, evoke a new set of emotions, and dissect content through a different lens.
