Division School Press Conference (DSPC) 2023 resumed after the surge of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) held at the gymnasium of Senior High School (SHS) in Winner National High School (WNHS) last March 9-11, 2023.
DSPC was a three day event with different categories in individual contest in news writing, feature writing, editorial writingz sports writingz copyreading, headline writing, science technology writing, photojournalism, editorial cartooning, and column writing and group contest, while the group contest have radio-script writing and broadcasting, collaborative desktop publishing contest, online publishing contest, and television-script writing and broadcasting contest.
The disseminators of DSPC is the Principal IV of WNHS Mrs. Lorelei C. Abalos delivered the general guidelines of the contest, WNHS Teacher Mrs. Vanessa Grace M. Cardozo for conveying the aims of the DSPC contest, and Divison Nurse Mrs. Joan P. Delfin carried out the safety reminders for the three day event.
"Empowering the campus Journalism that is based on the legal basis of Campus Journalism Act of 1991 wherein there is freedom of the press at the campus level and the promotion of the development and growth of campus Journalism," stated by Mrs. Cardozo in the press conference of DSPC.
The aim of the DSPC is to equip and provide the students the relevant knowledge, improve their journalism skills and promotes responsible, free journalism and enrich learning experiences through healthy and friendly competitions.
Furthermore, more than 48 schools participated in the DSPC to showcase their journalism skills and talents and WNHS is one of the participated school.
