Hey, I'm Sam Ruane-Brown (The Cornish Poet), a queer poet, linguist, writer and teacher. Originally from Tremar Coombe in east Cornwall, I currently live in north-east Wales.
I love languages and words, and the purpose of this website is for me to share my passion and my publications with you, and maybe even work together too.
I've been writing stories and poetry for over ten years, and in that time I have written and published countless pieces in Cornish, Welsh and English, as well as being an experienced translator and teacher of these languages too.
In 2025 my first collection of poetry, Dons Men, was published, and my other works have been included in other collections and publications. Click here to learn more.

As with many Cornish language creatives, I do most of my work without being paid and try to give it to you for free.
It is not easy to create art of any sort whilst earning a living, and it's easy to spread yourself thin. So, if you'd like to support me financially, I have placed links to my Ko-fi page around the website.
Any small tip will go a long way in helping me to creating poems and stories, and playing my part in supporting the Cornish language revival.
