Colin Lukas
Colin loved his trucks, jacked up, and slammed down, loud, rusting and leaking every visceral fluid known to man. He was partial to Chevy’s but brand really didn’t matter as long as it had wheels so big he could barely turn, could roll coal, leave a set of stripes and shake the windows with the stereo he was proud to drive it. Colin’s greatest passion was to fish and he would go fishing at every opportunity, he always carried pole in the back of his truck just in case the opportunity arose. He also enjoyed taking the old girls- a 70 cougar and a 94 Cobra out for a cruise to show his friends what American muscle looked and sounded like.
In his short time here, he touched so many lives with his cornflower blue eyes, brilliant smile, bear hugs, and generosity. He was known far and wide for his wicked sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh and feel at ease. He was loved dearly by everyone who knew him and will be truly missed by many. To quote his cousin: "The world is truly privileged to have such incredible souls like you touch this earth, even if it’s for a short while. We will miss your infectious smile and your heart of gold. The Colin Lukas Memorial Fund and Scholarship was developed to keep helping others as he would have done. We are helping young people put their best foot forward into the future. The Truck Show was hatched as a plan to honor his memory as an annual event so that friends might gather and share their best stories about Colin and as a benefit for the Scholarship that was created in his namesake.
We have partnered with the Red Wing Boot store in Janesville, Wisconsin to provide those High School Seniors whom are entering the trades an opportunity for a scholarship towards a pair of good boots.
Why work boots as a scholarship you ask? Colin was known for his Red Wing work boots, he wore them everywhere... he loved his Red Wing's. Joe always had his size in stock in the Janesville, Wisconsin store; no small feat …Colin wore a size 15E.
Colin was 23 when he died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 in a tragic accident on I90 in Janeseville Wisconsin on his way to work in the morning. Colin was like a comet in our lives, blazing so brightly but for far too short.
"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets"
