Representation of ancestral identities that predate colonization of the America
For students:
The opportunity to show yourself - in your writing and art - in the way you want to be seen
A safe yet brave space for having other adolescents respond to how they present themselves
Alternative literacies- approaching narrative construction through images and dialogue for students who may feel restricted by the typical essay structure
An encouragement of bilingual representation in text; students will celebrate the the multitudes they contain and represent
Students have the opportunity to connect with other students from different schools, encouraging socialization and a creative dissemination of ideas
