13 step Application process

Proper application is extremely important to the lifespan of any paint job, but it is critically important for the lifespan and durability of an exterior paint or coating jobs. The Coating Man job 13 step application process begins with a thorough inspection. We take time to make sure all steps are followed and assign a certified inspector who is dedicated to the success of your home improvement project.

  1. Inspection - Inspection of your home's exterior reveals suspect areas that must be addressed prior to coating.

  2. Trenching - Trenching around the perimeter of the home prevents ground moisture intrusion and decay.

  3. Pressure Washing - Cleaning with power high-pressure water removes dirt, stains, mildew, and any loose layers of paint.

  4. Repair & Patch - Areas with cracking or decay are repaired before coating to create a sound, uniform surface for coating.

  5. Masking - Doors, shrubs, trim, windows, and other surfaces not to be coated are carefully covered to prevent overspray.

  6. Preparation inspection - Complete inspection of the prep process to ensure the exterior is ready to start the coating process.

  7. Primer Coat - Primer is sprayed thick to create an armor like surface that protects from damage.

  8. Primer Inspection - Complete inspection of the primer coat to ensure that the coat meets the wet mil thickness standards.

  9. Two Top Coat - Two thick top coats colored to the tint of the homeowners choice.

  10. Top Coat inspection - Complete inspection of the two top coats to ensure the wet mil thickness is consistent throughout the entire exterior surface.

  11. Trim Accent Coat - Thick trim/accent coat is applied to the exterior areas by professional certified coating professionals.

  12. Clean up- Your property is left clean daily and our crews make sure to respect your grass and shrubs too.

  13. Final Finish Inspection - Complete final inspection of the project. Certified inspector is able to approve your completed project and issue warranty paperwork for completion.
