B.C. History of Nursing Society

Title: The BCHNS History Essay Bursary

Deadline: March 30th and November 30th of every year

Description: B.C. nurses who are members of the BC History of Nursing Society (including student members) and who are pursuing studies in historical aspects of nursing are eligible for financial assistance from the Society. The purpose of the bursary funding is to encourage undergraduate and graduate students to undertake a project or study to add to the rich heritage of nursing history.

BC Nurses' Union

Title: Student Nurse Education Bursary

Deadline: September 15th of every year

Award Amount: Value TBD by Union

Description: This fund is open to student LPNs, RNs and RPNs who are BCNU student members. Students currently working as employed student nurses are not eligible. The bursary is funded by donations and fundraising at BCNU's annual convention from vendors, members and regions.

Canadian Mental Health Association

Title: Lorne Fraser Education Bursary

Deadline: June 30th of every year

Description: Since 1982, CMHA BC has been helping people with mental illness further their pursuit of post-secondary education through our scholarship and bursary programs. Several awards are available each year to BC post-secondary students who live with mental illness or addiction.

Canadian Nurses Foundation

Description: The Canadian Nurses Foundation is proud to offer more than 50 scholarships in support of nursing education. These awards have different values, depending on the level or area of practice.

Pacific Medical Training

Title: ACLS Scholarship for Healthcare Providers

Description: The Pacific Medical Training Corporation will grant a $1,000 scholarship to the author of the winning essay, and complimentary access to any of our courses for three runner ups. Our courses include ACLS, BLS, PALS and monitor technician certification.

The Registered Nurses Foundation of BC

Description: The RNFBC raises money for bursaries for students who are enrolled in basic, post-basic, re-entry and graduate education degree programs in nursing. Our standard award at the present time is $1000 and these are granted on a random basis so every applicant has a chance of receiving an award.
