It is vital that all students are knowledge about all geographical landforms. The mountains, hills, valleys, plateaus, plains, and deserts that we all know are just a few examples of landforms. These geographical features are important not only because they make up one-fourth of our world, but they also regulate the ecosystem, climate, and weather, making it possible for humans like us to live.
Time to Start Our Next Exciting Project! ๐ฒ๐๏ธ
Dear Parents,
Itโs time to kick off our next exciting project: the National Parks Project! ๐๐ This will be a fun and educational opportunity for your child to explore one of the amazing National Parks in the United States, and create a diorama to showcase what they learn. ๐๏ธ๐จ
Hereโs the breakdown of the project:
Diorama: Each student is required to create a diorama of their chosen National Park. But theyโre not limited to just that! If they want to go above and beyond, they can add a poster board, PowerPoint, or handouts to support their diorama. For every extra element they include, theyโll receive 10 extra credit points! ๐
Focus: Students will need to tell the audience about their selected park, focusing on one landform found within that park. ๐ Make it as creative as possible โ think about what makes that landform so special!
Make It a Family Project: This is a great opportunity to get creative together as a family! You might even want to plan a future vacation to the park your child is presenting on! โ๏ธ๐๏ธ
Grading: This project will count for 45% of your childโs Quarter 2 Social Studies and Language Arts grades, so itโs an important one! ๐โ๏ธ
Materials: You can find lots of great supplies at stores like Michaelโs, Hobby Lobby, Joann Fabrics, Target, Walmart, and Dollar Tree. ๐๐๏ธ
We will also celebrate this project with a National Parks Party in December! ๐๐ณ Stay tuned for flyers that I will hand out next Monday with more details about the party.
Thank you for helping make this a memorable and fun project for your child! Letโs get started and make this an adventure! ๐๐
Best regards,
Mrs. Mason
