Why do You need Homework?
Homework teaches children to be independent, to take initiative and responsibility for completing a task, and it helps children to develop a sense of self-discipline. Doing school work at home helps the children to practice working alone without asking for help from their classmates and teachers.
Note: Homework will also be in paper form as well
I-Ready
The homework assignments focus on meaningful learning rather than the number of minutes spent. Each student is expected to complete specific tasks, including
A grammar lesson
A Close Read Assignment
These assignments are designed to enhance literacy skills and deepen understanding of the material.
Reading logs are not utilized, as I-Ready effectively tracks each student’s reading time during the Close Read. This data helps assess whether students truly comprehend what they read, allowing for targeted instruction.
Reading involves more than just recognizing words; it’s about engaging with the text and understanding its deeper meaning. Emphasizing grade-level rigor encourages students to think critically, make connections, and draw conclusions.
Thank you for your support in fostering a love for reading and academic growth!
