Castlebridge Show - Sunday, 9th August, 2026
Since its inception in 1940, Castlebridge Show has survived many challenges over its long history (including, amongst other things, being set up during World War 2 and being closed for over two years by the Covid pandemic). However, the Show's success has always been due to the loyalty of its exhibitors, visitors, sponsors, judges, committee and voluntary workers, stall venders and other groups who organise events on the day. So with that continued support, we look forward to another great Show - our traditional old fashioned family day out - on Sunday, 9th August, 2026. Mark the date in your diary!

Special thanks also to Mick Redmond, Jimmy Nolan, Morgan Conroy and Seamus O'Leary for their inspiring talks and demonstrations on vegetable growing, to Pierce Wickham for his excellent video shooting of the proceedings, and to anyone who helped in any way to make this event such a success. The Show Committee are very grateful to Castlebridge Community Garden Committee for granting use of the Garden.
Thanks also to the Show Committee members who have maintained the Show plot ever since.
In Spring 2026 Castlebridge Show Committee were very pleased to be allocated a plot at the Castlebridge Community Garden allotments for the purposes of growing vegetables and using the plot for the promotion of vegetable growing in the community. Committee members then proceeded to weed and dig the soil, made drills and beds for sowing. On Saturday morning, 18th April, 2026 (10am to 12 noon), they held their first Vegetable Growing Talk/Demonstration for members of the public where experienced gardeners sowed seeds and planted vegetable plants - demonstrating the practical skills needed to become a successful vegetable grower. Over forty people from various parts of the County were in attendance. The second Talk/Demonstration in the Community Garden will be held on Saturday,13th June, 2026 (10am to 12 noon) - free admission and complimentary teas and coffees will be served. We look forward to another large attendance. Every welcome.
