Here is a message from Campbell Duke, member of the Care Home Relatives Scotland Group. The legislation they are fighting for "Anne's Law" is named after Campbell's dear wife.
I had originally sought and received permission from our Core Group Members of Care Home Relatives Scotland to make the Original Post.
I had recently received a Marvellous Gift from two equally Marvellous Friends. It was a highly professional hardback printed version in book form of some Limericks I had written at Christmas.
And I had thought! .... 🤔 ....
I would Love to collate a Book of Reminiscences of our "Loved Ones", those still with us and those who have passed.
It would be a Limited Print of only a few copies initially with a view to presenting it to The First Minister?....The Judge in charge of The Public Inquiry?....and perhaps The National Library of Scotland? ( All printing costs will be met by me as it will be a private project )
Why Such a Book?
I. I believe it would prove a valuable experience for many of us as individuals and perhaps even as a group.
2. I believe it would be a fine and lasting tribute to our "Loved Ones".
3. The act of presenting such a finished book to the First Minister etc would also provide a good opportunity for press coverage for our cause.
4. The finished book would then be a Matter of Public Record.
What might be it's format?
🌻Ideally I would love to gather 100 pages - each with a tribute to an individual "Loved One". Beyond a short foreward there will be no editorialising.
🌻Your contribution could take many forms -
*it could be made by any family member or friend of any age - including grandchildren?
*it could be a photograph?
*it could be a short biography?
*it could be a story - funny or sad - outlining our "Loved One's" experience in "care" during The Pandemic?
*it could be a poem?
*perhaps a drawing or painting of "granny" or "mum" or whoever?
We all find our own way of dealing with our emotions and nobody need feel compelled to join in.
As I say, this will be a private project of mine, whilst seeking the blessing of the CHRS Page to generate interest and possible contributions.
I am not asking anyone to post anything on to Facebook. I am now pleased to announce that I have established a Dedicated E-mail Address which folk can now use to send contributions or ask questions etc.
That address is
