From 1973 to 1976, Hasbro produced this desert theme G.I. jOE Adventure Team: Hidden Treasure - Action Outfit (code #7308-5).

The first issue of this set (see image above) came in a small window box, and later versions came on a card with plastic bubble cover (see image below).

Set contains:

Beige shirt with matching pants and green folding shovel.

Later versions switched the folding shovel for the Australian Jungle Fighter's entrenching tool (e-tool).

These Action Outfit sets did not come with an Adventure Team comic so you could imagine your own adventure...

G.I. jOE is in Asia following clues to find a long lost solid gold Buddha statue. He is certain that an earthen avalanche from long ago has buried the statue.
