On Wednesday, February 26th Carter invited three of his closest friends to accompany him at the Vermont State House where he received a certificate of recognition from Governor Phil Scott; Secretary of Administration, Susanne Young; and State Librarian, Commissioner Broughton.

He also met the Secretary of Education, Daniel French, Representatives Peter Anthony and Tommy Walz, as well as many more who were interested in learning about his book and journey with dyslexia.

Later he testified in front of the House Committee on Education, and was proud to sit at the head of their table and answer all of their questions.
