Pioneer 1

The first satellite was launched only ten days after NASA’s official opening and the agency called it Pioneer 1. They had made 13 attempts to launch their first satellites only of which four were successful. They designed Pioneer 1 so that it would measure cosmic radiation between the Earth and the Moon.
