The Bloody Path Home - For Vocalists

FOR VOCALISTS

These songs are here to be sung.

Each song includes the complete lyrics and a vocal-free backing track so you can step behind the microphone and make it your own. You don’t need to match the original performance. Sing it clean, harsh, melodic, screamed, male, female, or take it somewhere I never expected. The backing track provides the song. What happens with the vocal is up to you.

If you record and share your performance, tag The Bloody Path Home so I can hear it. I may also feature some performances here on the site.

These backing tracks are provided for personal use, practice, and non-commercial cover performances. If you’re interested in commercially releasing a cover, adapting one of these songs, recording it with your band, or discussing other licensing or collaboration, please contact me.

About the backing track: This is an intentionally sparse arrangement built around drones, atmosphere, and ritual percussion. The vocal is meant to occupy much of the space. Use that freedom however you like: a single voice, layered harmonies, whispers, chants, harsh vocals, or something entirely your own.

Recorded your version? Tag The Bloody Path Home or send me the link. I’d love to hear it.

About the backing track: This arrangement leaves room for a wide emotional range. The original performance begins restrained and vulnerable before building toward a much heavier collapse. Follow that arc, change it completely, or find your own balance between clean and harsh vocals.

About the backing track: This is a slow, atmospheric arrangement built around guitar, drones and ritual textures, leaving plenty of space for the vocal to carry the story. The original performance grows from restrained and intimate into a fuller, more emotional final section, but you’re free to interpret that progression however you hear it.

Recorded your version? Tag The Bloody Path Home or send me the link. I’d love to hear it.

UNBORN LOVE

Style: Gothic Deathcore / Modern Metalcore

Key: E Minor — Phrygian-flavored

Tempo: 100 BPM

Original Feel: Predatory, claustrophobic, increasingly feral

About the backing track: The backing track leaves plenty of room to shape the vocal performance around the song’s heavy rhythmic foundation. The verses allow for tighter, controlled phrasing, while the repeated “Unborn Love” sections provide the main vocal hooks and are open to layering, alternating registers, gang-style reinforcement or call-and-response.

The song runs at 100 BPM, with faster drum passages creating a double-time feel without changing the underlying pulse. Don’t feel obligated to begin at maximum intensity. Letting the vocal become progressively harsher gives the later breakdown and final chorus considerably more impact.

The outro deliberately pulls away from that violence and leaves room for an exhausted, intimate or almost spoken delivery.

Technical Notes: Standard E tuning • Primarily 4/4 • 100 BPM underlying pulse • Approx. 200 BPM double-time feel during faster passages • E-centered minor/Phrygian riff language • Heavy palm-muted chugs and pedal-tone riffing • Half-time breakdown emphasis • Harsh female lead vocal in the original arrangement.

Recorded your version? Tag The Bloody Path Home or send me the link. I’d love to hear it.

LOVE THY NEIGHBOR

Style: Modern Groove Metal / Metalcore

Key: E Minor

Tempo: 100 BPM

Original Feel: Heavy, confrontational, increasingly accusatory

About the backing track: The backing track is built around a strong 4/4 pulse with plenty of room for a vocalist to control the phrasing. The verses support longer narrative lines and work well with rhythmic harsh vocals, spoken aggression, cleaner delivery or a mixture of approaches.

The “Love Thy Neighbor” refrain is the main vocal anchor and can support doubled vocals, gang-style responses or contrasting vocal registers. Later sections move toward a heavier half-time and breakdown feel.

The original performance escalates throughout the song, but you don’t need to reproduce it. Change the phrasing, screams, growls, layering or dynamics and find your own way into the song.

Technical Notes: Standard E tuning • 4/4 • 100 BPM • E Minor • Groove-driven palm-muted riffing • Half-time breakdown emphasis • Male harsh lead vocal in the original arrangement
