Always Be A Blessing!
Operation M.O.V.E.
(Mission Occupation Vocation Education)
The Self-Help Program / HUD-VASH targets America’s most vulnerable homeless
populations, including those with medical, mental health and or substance use
disorders. Its primary target populations are those Americans who have experienced
multiple episodes of homelessness, are suffering from mental health and/or medical
complications, have been homeless four or more times in the prior three years, or who
have been continuously homeless for one year or longer. The Self-Help Program also
considers, both single Veteran applicants & Veterans with dependent family members
(HUD-VASH), and those of the civilian community. However, since The Self-Help
Program is designed for the homeless Veterans / Civilians (and or veterans & families),
the household must include the eligible Veteran / Civilians and cannot include any
family members with a Lifetime Sexual Offender Registry status. The Self-Help Program
guidelines become important once the Veteran’s / Civilian’s eligibility has been
favorably determined by The Self-Help Program and he or she is approved by The
Self-Help Program Case Manager. At that time, the Veteran / Civilian must complete a
TSHP application and follow the TSHP’s guidelines to obtain housing. This program
consists of vocational training and adult educational training, which includes obtaining
one’s own personal / professional business.
That is to say: Self-employment provides work and good mental health; primarily for the
founders (or in this case veterans of TSHP).
Entrepreneurship / TSHP Veterans: refers to all new businesses, including
self-employment and businesses that never intend to grow big or become registered, but
Psychotherapy Behavioral & Mental Health Counseling L.L.C. HUD-VASH Companion
startups refer to new businesses that intend to grow beyond the founders / TSHP
Veterans, to have employees, and grow large.
In summary:
Self-employment: an organization created with the primary intention to give a job
to the veteran, simultaneously instilling confidence, a sense of self-control, and
positive mental independence and creation.
Veteran entrepreneurship: all new organizations.
Veteran Startup: a temporary new organization created with the intention to be
bigger (at least have employees).
Important to note: that each veteran resident are able to progress at the own pace
and is assured that they’re never in danger of being homeless; whatever the
progression or setback in their personal goals.
Unlike other programs that meet the bare minimums qualification to house veterans,
TSHP will house, feed, employ (work from home), self-employ (contract to do work to
keep the grounds of the facility), educate (attend our independent business classes at
college / attend college for a business degree), and prepare the veteran to embrace the
challenges of America’s vastly changing society with the confidence, knowledge, and
aggression to secure mental, psychological, social, and financial independence.
1 It is very important that the entire household that will be living with the Veteran be identified at the time of referral
to the PHA to assure that an appropriate unit size is identified and because the limitations on PHA screening refer
to all members of the family referred to the PHA (or Public Housing Authority).

The TSHP will expect proof of a qualifying income level, and will also expect
participating Veterans / Civilians to follow the landlord’s tenancy expectations. Cordially,
