See the message from our Executive Director for this month's sabbatical:

Happy New Year Potters House Arts and Music Department!

Happy New Year to all of you! 2019 is going to be a year of Victory for us!

As in keeping in step with our Bishop, we will be taking the month of January to focus on teaching and training. Before we enter back into our regular service activities, we want to use this month as a tithe to the Lord and give it back to Him. As an Arts and Music ministry, we want to use this month to cast vision, engage culture and set expectations. These will happen in (3) mandatory sessions for all Potters House Arts and Music Ministry staff volunteers:

• Saturday, January 12 – 10-11:30am (The Heart of Service)
• Thursday, January 17th – 7-8:30pm (The Art of Service)
• Saturday, January 26th - 10–11:30am (Depart to Serve)

All active Potters House Arts and Music volunteers are expected to be in attendance. We will have no other rehearsals during these weeks as these sessions will be the only activities set for volunteers. Roll will be taken each week.

All Potters House Arts and Music Staff are expected to be in attendance.

Finally, I leave you with this passage from Ezekiel, as it becomes our goal and prayer to have a heart that responds to God!

Ezekiel 11:17-20: Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “ I will gather you from the peoples, assemble you from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.” And they will go there, and they will take away all its detestable things and all its abominations from there. Good Day Music and Fine Arts Volunteers!

I pray that you have been rejuvenated both spiritually and physically during this sabbatical period. Our MFA team is so excited about the return of all our wonderful volunteers and have been meeting and strategizing about how to be better examples of servant ministry leaders, pursuers of excellence and consistent value of your time. Most importantly, we have aligned our focus of ministry around one thought “We want our gifts to lead people to have an encounter with God”.

I want to inform you of some upcoming events we have as well as set some expectations of things you should look to receive from your MFA staff team:

• August 31st, 7pm Main Sanctuary – The McDonalds Gospel Fest will be hosting their tour at our church. The Potters House Choir will be the opening artist for this date. We have several free tickets allotted for our PH family and MFA family. You can contact your ministry lead if you are interested in tickets
• Sept. 1st, 10am Ballroom – MFA Volunteer Meeting/Rally! This is for ALL MFA Volunteers including Firehouse. As we return back to ministry we would like to kick this off with a bang and welcome back all of our volunteers! Come dressed comfortably!
• Rehearsal Dates – Our team has worked through our end of the year calendar (Sept-Dec). You will receive this information from your ministry lead
• WTAL Women’s Choir – There will be a special Women’s Choir for WTAL 2018. Asaph, Thaddeus and Pastor Crumpton are facilitating this special choir. If interested please email Asaph Ward at award@tdjakes.org
• NEW ENTRANCE – Starting August 27th, you will no longer enter the church through the front doors during the week. Our new entrance is through the Atrium (coming into the parking lot, you would pull to the farthest side of the church where the “PLACE” is located and enter through the right side entrance) This was the main entrance before construction on the new building and the entrance was moved to the front doors. The security desk and officer will be set up on that side of the building to receive you as you enter. Please remember to wear your badges when you come up for ministry activities during the week for identification purposes. You will be able to park on that side as well to make it convenient for entry.
• Badges – If you do not have your volunteer badge, please contact your ministry lead immediately. If you have been out of service longer than 6-months and would like to return to the MFA department, please contact Kysa Henry at khenry@tdjakes.org

Again, we are so excited to be able to work with you all in ministry again. My prayer is that we all return ready to serve God with even more fire and to lead people to where HE is!

We have 2 rehearsals to prepare for New Year’s Eve.
