Beverly Giles was born on January 12th in Morrilton, Arkansas. She went to Morrilton High School where she graduated as salutatorian, and then went on to study social work at the University of Central Arkansas. After graduating she worked as a social worker in several states, traveling with her husband who was in the Air Force. She eventually settled in Lake Jackson, Texas with her husband Arthur Giles and her daughter Brandy Giles. She began working at Worksource Solutions and joined Bethel Baptist Church. Through both organizations, Beverly gave back to the community, and her generous spirit is remembered fondly by many. Beverly's favorite activities were reading, spending time with friends and family, eating out (and eating her sister Carolyn's cooking), shopping, and traveling. Her daughter moved abroad in 2013, and after that she and daughter began taking yearly trips together. They traveled to Italy, Spain, Zanzibar, and even China together.
Beverly made an impact on everyone she met. She is remembered for her quick wit, her brutal honesty, her sense of humor and her desire to always help those in need. Her colleagues at Worksource Solutions remember her as a wonderful and caring boss who ran a tight ship, and her friends and family remember her as having a big heart, never being afraid to share her opinion, and always willing to support whatever her family needed.
The Beverly Project was founded to embody the spirit that Beverly had: compassionate and generous.
