Making a difference in children's lives one book at a time.
65 books were given to Heights MS to add to their classroom libraries in 2021.
When the books arrived in my classroom, my students were so excited. There were several that became immediate “must haves.” Lana Condor’s To All the Boys series and the graphic novels were fast favorites. One thing that I found really interesting was that rather than take a book home to keep, my students wanted to return them after finishing and get another book. As a teacher, there is no greater joy than seeing my students find a book that they love and want to share it with their friends. I also incorporated the picture book “I Love Myself” into our unit about self discovery. I think students enjoy seeing picture books explored in new and more mature ways. It also helps them to develop self-efficacy by using accessible texts.
Some of my students did choose to keep books at the end of the year. My hope is that they spent the summer finding a new love.

29 books were given to Lanier MS to add to a classroom library in 2021.
50 books were given to Milestone Services to be given to the special needs students there.
The Beverly Project has made it possible for preschool children to have books of their own to take home. Some of the books donated were written in Spanish so that our non English speaking parents will have books to read to their children as well. This gives parents an opportunity to bond with their children, as well as enhance their literacy skills. The children love being able to select the book that they want to keep. It gives them a sense of pride and ownership. Thanks so much Beverly Project!
