Meet the real stars of The Bauman Barnāour animals, our coworkers, and our chaos creators.
Around here, itās not just veggies that grow. Our farm is home to a small but mighty crew of sassy, fluffy, and feathered personalities who keep us laughing, on our toes, and occasionally chasing them through the garden.
Our resident farm dogs, shadow chasers, and world-class weirdosāwrapped up in a pair of beautifully, freckled German Short-haired Pointers.
š¶ Porter is our 12-year-old neurotic gentleman who specializes in whining at reflections, obsessing over shiny things, and demanding treats just for existing. Heās a bit high-strung, a lot dramatic, and 100% convinced he deserves a cookie every time he wakes up (heās not wrong).
š Delta is our 7.5-year-old dock-diving diva who weighs 50 pounds but swears sheās a delicate 5-pound lap dog. She sleeps in a king-sized bed, enjoys private open-swim all summer, and will happily convince strangers sheās mistreatedājust before doing a cannonball into the pool.
š¬ They guard the farm, herd the goats (emotionally, not physically), and fill every day with equal parts chaos and cuddles.
We raise Boer/Kiko goats, and theyāre equal parts adorable and unruly.
Whether theyāre peeking over fences, making surprise appearances in the driveway, or demanding snacks with dramatic bleatsāthereās never a dull moment. All our doe's are named after songs, if you are to take a listen, here is The BB'sĀ G.O.A.T. playlist.
š¬ Farm Favorite: Danny Zuko, the goat with too much swagger and zero chill.Ā
The undisputed queen of The Bauman Barn. A 100% New Zealand Kiko and our original goat mama, Valerie rules the roost with calm confidence and a heart full of snacks. Sheās raised multiple generations here, including her daughter Ophelia and this yearās greasers, Danny Zuko & Kenickie. Sheās the first to greet you at the gate and the last to say no to treats.
The baby daddy of the barnyard, Zeke is our 100% Boer buck who thinks he's more golden retriever than goat. Heās sweet, gentle, and just wants belly rubsāunless youāre holding snacks. Then all bets are off. Proud papa to nearly every kid on the farm (except Ophelia), heās the reason our babies are so darn cute.
She may be named after a heartbreak anthem, but Jojo is breaking hearts just by being gorgeous. This 100% Kiko beauty queen has the looks of a supermodel and the personality of a shadowāsheās elusive, elegant, and not impressed by your snacks. Mama to Taylor Swift.
Quiet, gentle, and just a little shy, Delilah is the sweetheart in the shadows. A 100% Kiko with a soft soul, sheās not the first to approach but will melt your heart when she does. Though her kids didnāt make it this season, sheās still a cherished member of our herd with a special place in our hearts.
Valerieās mini-me with a little more spice, Ophelia is a 100% New Zealand Kiko and proud mama to twins Holli & Chevy. Sheās second-in-command in the sweetness department, always ready for a head scratch (if treats are involved). Sheās also the only kid not fathered by Zekeāher mysterious lineage only adds to her charm.
Smooth, confident, and full of goatitude. Danny struts around like he owns the pasture, flipping imaginary hair and challenging fences to a duel. Twin to Kenickie and son of Valerie and Zeke, heās got Greaser energy and matriarch-approved genetics.
The goofball of the bunch. Kenickie is always in Dannyās shadow but in a lovable, āIāll eat your shoelace if you stand stillā kind of way. Heās the kind of twin who accidentally headbutts himself into trouble. Equal parts mischief and mamaās boy.
The more fashionable of Opheliaās twins, Holli is all about drama and photogenic angles. She canāt resist a cameraāor a snack. She prances like a runway model and insists on being addressed by her full name at least once a day.
Class clown energy, all day long. Chevy is the comic relief of the barnānever where heās supposed to be, often leaping off hay bales like a goat on Red Bull. Twin to Holli and always down for a snack and a stunt.
The quiet storm. Born to Jojo and already writing breakup songs in her head, Taylor Swift is dainty, dreamy, and a little dramatic. Sheās often spotted striking a pose like sheās about to drop her next album: "Midnaps & Milk Replacers."
Independent. Mysterious. Slightly judgy.
They keep the rodent population down and the drama high. If you spot one lounging in the sun looking like they run the placeāitās because they do. Meet Jude (Black & White), Jupiter (Black), & Nova (Tortoiseshell).
Our hens lay eggs when the mood strikes (which, to be honest, isnāt always).
They roam the yard, sass the goats, and occasionally perch in odd places they shouldnāt. We love them for their eggs and their entertainment value.
š¬ Did someone say āfarm fresh eggsā? Ours come with attitude.
Our youngest farmhand, Bear, swears he speaks pigāand frankly, we believe him.
Pigs may not be at the farm full-time, but they're definitely part of our dream team.Ā They live rent-free in Bearās imagination (and in our yearly plans).
