Equipment
We have the tools and we have the talent!
Many members of our team have constructed proton packs, traps, and even modified their vehicles to take after ECTO-1. Whether you buy a pre-made kit or build your props from scratch, our team is always eager to geek out and help you find a way to get the gear that makes you happy.
Here we have collected some of the team's favorite resources, which serve as a great place to get started. One of the best places to get started, Is the GBFans Forum. If you have a question, there is a good chance you'll find the answer here.
Proton Pack
Hands down the most iconic piece of equipment we use. It's also the most difficult prop to build. But luckily there is more than one way to fire a proton stream.
Spirit of Halloween Proton Pack - They are hard to come by as they keep selling out but this Is a great entry-level pack. The pack itself is about 84% scale of a 1:1 pack which makes it lighter and easier for smaller busters to carry. The newest version even has Improved lights and straps.
Spirit Pack Modding - One of the best things about the Spirit pack Is how easy It Is to modify.
Punished Props - Here Is a quick tutorial on how to get a lot more out of the Spirit Pack.
Facebook Group - There Is an entire Facebook group dedicated to modifying the Spirit Pack.
Spengler Neutrona Wand - This Is one of the best props ever produced. At 1:1 scale, it looks great on a full scale pack and is often used to replace the small wand on the Spirit Pack. If you managed to get your hands on the Spengler Proton Pack that Hasbro Pulse is releasing next year, this is a must have addition.
Foam Proton Pack - Yes, you can turn a piece of foam flooring mat Into a proton pack (plus a bunch of other stuff).
Found Object Pack - This Is one of the oldest and most used tutorials. And while some of the Items listed are no longer made, there are ways around that to still build a fairly awesome pack.
3D Printed Pack - It Is possible to 3D print an entire proton pack, no matter what size the print bed.
Thingiverse Plans -You can find free files to print out a pack.
Facebook Group - This group not only has plans for a proton pack, but also for several other Ghostbusters props.
GBFans - They have almost everything you need to build a proton pack.
Mack's Factory - If you are willing to wait as they release the parts, Mack's Factory has officially licenses pieces to use for a pack.
Ghost Trap
The humble ghost trap Is one of the hardest working pieces of equipment In our arsenal. It's also one of the most recognizable props and fun to play with.
Spirit of Halloween Proton Pack - Just like the pack, they are hard to get ahold of.
Punished Props - Here Is a quick tutorial on how to get a lot more out of the Spirit trap.
3D Printed Trap - It Is possible to 3D print a ghost trap.
Thingiverse Plans -You can find free files to print out a trap.
Etsy Parts - If you want to take that 3D printed trap to the next level, here are the parts and electronics to do it!
PKE Meter
It was the first piece of equipment we saw on screen In the 80's and it was one of most Important parts of Afterlife. It's also one of the most fun props to have as you scan everything, and everyone, no matter where you go.
Spirit of Halloween PKE Meter - Just like the pack, they are hard to get ahold of.
Etsy Parts - A little paint, some 3D printed parts and a solder point or two can turn this Into a really awesome PKE meter.
Ecto Goggles
Of all of the equipment, Ecto Goggles are some of the easiest to DIY.
Spirit of Halloween Ecto Goggles - Just like the pack, they are hard to get ahold of.

DIY Goggles - Start with safety goggles, end with Ecto Goggles.
Polaroid Goggles - Seen In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, these goggles have a polaroid camera that can actually take pictures.
And so much more...
The props, techniques and ideas presented here barely scratch the surface of whats possible. There are tons of different and innovative ways to make and modify any and all of these props. But multiple universes of props to explore as well.
Ghostbusters II - Ever think of making a gigameter or perhaps a slime blower?
Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016) - Maybe the rebooted proton packs, traps and PKE meter are on your to-do list.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife - You know what would look awesome with that death whistle and Spengler proton pack? An RTV (remote trap vehicle)!
Ghostbusters: The Video Game - Having all of the functions the proton pack had in that game in a real prop is a holy grail for many prop makers.
The Real Ghostbusters - There is something to be said about those bright blue versions of the proton pack, traps, goggles and PKE meter the animated version of the crew was using.
Extreme Ghostbusters - While a lot of people overlooked this version of the Ghostbusters, it did have an interesting take on some of the equipment.
Ghostbusters Comics - Arm mounted proton pack anyone? Perhaps some of the equipment the Ghost Smashers used?
Original equipment - Steampunk Ghostbusters. Futuristic Ghostbusters. The possibilities are endless!
