Ava Koerner, Founder and Director

Ava is from Washington, D.C., and attends the University of British Columbia, where she studies global health. She is a member of Destination MD, where she is also a contributing writer, researcher, and editor.

Her passion for health started in early high school, when she enrolled in Project Lead The Way's Biomedical Sciences program. She is also passionate about social justice and environmental health, along with non- STEM subjects like philosophy, ethics, dance, and writing.

She founded The ATHI Project because she saw a gaping hole in health education in schools throughout out America, and in the words or Mr. Bigweld "See a need, fill a need."
