Ms. Campbell is further along with her 2nd period drama class than what I anticipated. She already has the class working on a performance. The play is a play that she has written about a female roughly the age of the students in her class. I witnessed her engaging the students in a rewrite of several parts of the play. She allows students to provide input in a way that empowers the students. All students have acting parts, whether they are the prime character or extras. They also have duties such as lighting, staging and music. At times the conversation in the class was headed to a point where most teachers would lose control. However, Ms. Campbell redirected students without taking their voice. There is definite organization in the room, although this can be improved upon. The teacher is managing with the space she occupies. It is not as sufficient as the Drama Room but is probably more sufficient than a regular classroom would be. She extends the classroom out into the classroom.Ms. Campbell understands the importance of connecting to other subjects. She requires her students to keep a journal... to help their writing skills and to help critique her instruction. The teacher uses time well in class. She includes students in future planning. Student absenteeism does negatively effect her class and has a direct impact as to what she can complete in class.

Ms. Campbell is doing an excellent job building her program. It is tough because she does not have the venue to showcase her students' talents. She is very organized and has good classroom management skills. She chooses materials that are both appropriate and relevant to the students in her room. She incorporates reading and writing skills in her class assignments. She has a nurturing environment where students are allowed to express their ideas and actually add to/create along side the materials she has chosen. She consistently turns in paperwork on time, such as her lesson plan. She has built a definite rapport with the students who are interested in drama... now its time to capture those who are unfamiliar with drama class.

Ms. Campbell is doing an excellent job growing the program. She does a lot of independent work in her classroom. Students are engaged in her room. They are respectful. It was a little difficult to figure out the structure of the class as students are constantly working on differing assignment. The class can be best judged by the final product. I have yet had a chance to view one of the performances though my staff has. They are amazed at how Ms. Campbell is getting production out of students who typically are more challenging.
I commend her for allowing the students to actually write and perform their own works. This touches on language and writing components.

Ms. Campbell does an excellent job with the students. Both Ms. Campbell and the students share responsibilities in the room for instructing and learning. Ms. Campbell is open to ideas presented by the students that can help performance standards and actual performances.
Ms. Campbell and the students seem to share a bond that she capitalizes on when necessary. Students seem eager to step out of their comfort zones and to try new things.
Ms. Campbell has adapted her space to fit the needs of the Theater Arts Class.
The only area of growth needed is going on beyond the walls of her class to recruit more talented students into her program.
